Mills University Studies High School is proud to announce the beginning of a wonderful partnership with Philander Smith University and their pre-educator program! This partnership means we will begin the planning process for MUSHS students to be able to take concurrent credit through PSU's education department that will lead to several outcomes. First, high school graduates will be eligible to earn a para-professional certification by the time they graduate from high school. Then it will also give our high school students college course credit at Philander Smith University that will count toward the undergraduate program for becoming a certified teacher. Finally, the partnership also means that Philander Smith University will place their student interns here for their learning experiences as well. This partnership will be a major contribution to our Achieve Community Alliance Academy of Leadership and Social Services which is part of the Academies of Central Arkansas. We are so excited about this new opportunity for our students here at MUSHS! #ElevatingExcellence #CommunityPartners #AcademiesOfCentralArkansas #CollegeAndCareerReady

What would you tell your future self? Some of our seniors got the chance to do just that! As part of a reset for their sophomore year in 2023, students in Ms. Foote's English class returned from Winter Break and wrote letters to their future selves declaring the success they would achieve by graduation. The letters along with other artifacts were put into a time capsule and buried. On April 23, 2025, just one month prior to graduation, the time capsule was excavated and students took a walk down memory lane. We are so proud of the class of 2025 as they prepare to graduate and move on to their next phases of life! #ElevatingExcellence #ClassOf2025

In honor of Teacher Appreciation Day and Week, the Campus Beautification Club created photo props for teachers and partnered with Foote Party Rentals & Events to receive a free floral wall rental to create a stunning photo booth to commemorate the day. Our math department also honored Mr. Patterson this week on National Principals' Day. Leading a high school is no easy task, but the teachers are thankful to have him at the helm! We can't thank our teachers and administrators enough for their hard work, dedication, and love for our students! You can show them some love as well by clicking on the link below and sending them a message of appreciation! https://mills.pcssd.org/staff #ElevatingExcellence #TeacherAppreciation #NationalPrincipalsDay

We are proud to announce that several of Ms. Fuller's students have recently successfully completed their ACT WorkKeys assessments! ACT WorkKeys aims to assess and develop essential skills needed for workplace success. Scholars are tested in the areas of applied math, graphic literacy and workplace documents, and certificates are issued at four levels: Platinum, Gold, Silver and Bronze. Successful completion of specific WorkKeys assessments can lead to earning the National Career Readiness Certificate (NCRC), a credential that validates essential skills across industries and occupations. ACT WorkKeys also offers a job profiling service that helps employers identify the specific skills required for various jobs. Congratulations to these students for their hard work! #ElevatingExcellence
